DECLARATION

This Declaration calls for respect for the customary land rights of indigenous peoples.
It also calls for changes in terms of respect for consent, traditional leadership, benefit sharing, and participation of indigenous peoples in political life.
The Gbabandi platform has published a Declaration on access to citizenship for indigenous forest peoples in Cameroon. They ask that the State of Cameroon take special measures to assist indigenous peoples in the establishment of birth certificates for children and adults.
The Gbabandi Platform issued a Statement on human rights violations linked to WWF's conservation activities in Cameroon. Among other things, it demands a public apology from WWF and the restitution of indigenous peoples' customary lands.
