GBABANDI INDIGENOUS WOMEN'S NETWORK

The first Gbabandi Indigenous Women’s Forum took place in 2018, shortly after International Women’s day, in Cameroon. One of the requests that came from the women present at that Forum, was for the creation of a permanent Indigenous Women’s Network within the Gbabandi Platform.

The objective of Women’s Network is principally to provide a space for indigenous women (Baka, Bagyeli, Bakola and Bedzang) to come together, to explore and combat issues of gender discrimination within their communities, and to raise the profile and participation of indigenous women within the Gbabandi platform, and within community decision-making processes more broadly.
